John 15:11: These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. 16:24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. 17:13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. James 1:2: My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations… Some time ago I shared the gospel with a man who had been crushed between a pickup truck and a wall. He had a broken hip, a broken pelvis, a broken leg, internal injuries and great pain. His first words after receiving Christ were: This is the best day of my life! There was joy in my heart. It was a great day for me too. Spurgeon: God is a good paymaster; He pays His servants while at work as well as when they have done it; and one of His payments is this: an easy conscience. |
